Art?

Two artists have now used photos of mine as references for paintings. Two have used the peppers, one the eggs, and now I have a request to hang photos of some lettuce in our garden.

It sure has been a colorful Autumn.

I spotted these wet leaves right outside our front door this afternoon on my lunch break.

I love it when this is the first thing I see when I arrive at the job site on the final day of the project.

Mas

This is my friend and neighbor, Mas. Under that surgical mask he is smiling ear to ear. Almost two years ago while attending church he experienced cardiac arrest, not once, but several times...each time he was revived. It was a miracle he survived...but even more of a miracle, after several weeks in the hospital and countless tests, he had only very slight brain damage.

Nine weeks ago he was notified a heart match was located, so he was rushed to the hospital, prepped, and "opened up" to receive his new leash on life. But there was a problem with the donated heart, and the team had to close him with his "old" heart.

Two weeks later he was notified another match was found. This time the transplant was successful. This is a photo I snapped of him today while on his morning walk. His doctor told him that he could probably attend church this Sunday. He is so excited.

First Frost Tonight?

If it does, I'm glad I stopped at the side of the road yesterday to snap this October Morning Glory.

Fall Colors

This is the time of year I like to drive around looking for pretty colored leaves so I can take pictures....but this morning I didn't need to leave our driveway to find a pretty shot.

Evan's New Car

It's 8 years old but looks (and smells) brand new. He's wanted one of these since he was 15. He likes this one a lot, much more than his 325.

Kittens' Names

SE is thinking maybe hers might become "Ned." Whitney is not sure she likes the name "Amos" for her kitten. I don't think either kitten cares much about the ordeal.

Gas Prices

A month ago I figured we would never again see gasoline under $4.00/gallon. But for the first time in months (at least for now) it's under $3.00.

Why is it that I am not hearing the people that were blaming W for $4.00/gallon gas now praising him for "lowering" the prices?

Irises in October?

It is October 1st and we have 3 white irises in bloom in the garden.

26 years ago tomorrow Karen & I were married in Noblesville, Indiana.

Oh, and SE likes the name "Figaro" for her kitten...from the cat in Pinocchio story. She suggested that we could call him "Figs."

Three weeks at our house and he still doesn't have a name.

Here is SE's new kitty. He is Whitney's kitten's brother.

We thought maybe by now we would be close to giving him a name.

Huh-uh, not even any possibilities.

Whitney also is having a difficult time coming up with a name for her kitten, too.

Okay...I am now blogging.

Okay, it's time to get with it. It is Labor Day 2008 and I have started a blog.

Whitney has a new kitty. He doesn't have a name yet. His brother needed a home, so she took his brother home, too, and then gave him to her little sister.

No pictures of SE's new kitten yet. I'm sure there will be many.

Here's Whitney's "yet to be named" kitten.

My Blog

Okay...time for me to start blogging. Labor Day is a good day to start. Last night Karen's parents treated us to a concert at "Symphony on the Prairie," complete with fireworks.

Every summer they treat us to a night of great food, music, and wonderful company.
